Geoneon Joins EnergyLab’s Climate Solutions Accelerator

Written by Geoneon | 19 August 2025

We are delighted to share that Geoneon has been selected for EnergyLab’s 2025 Climate Solutions Accelerator—Australia’s leading program for scaling climate tech startups.

Now in its twelfth cohort, the Accelerator has supported some of Australia’s most impactful clean technology companies. Alumni have collectively raised more than AUD 147 million, accounting for a quarter of all clean energy investment in Australia last year. Many have gone on to secure international partnerships, pilot projects, and Series A funding.

A Cohort of Innovators

This year’s program brings together ten startups tackling some of the most urgent climate challenges. Their solutions span the energy transition, decarbonisation of industry, sustainable food systems, and climate resilience. Highlights include:

  • Agscent – livestock breath analysis using nano-sensors to detect pregnancy, methane emissions, and animal health.
  • Algenie – AI-optimised photobioreactors enabling large-scale algae cultivation.
  • BioDefense – edible coatings to extend the shelf life of proteins, reducing food waste.
  • Blue Carbon – marine-grade oPods™ for carbon capture, reef cooling, aquaculture, and desalination.
  • Brightspace – AI-powered digital twins to optimise energy use in buildings.
  • Bspkl – next-generation catalyst membranes cutting the cost of green hydrogen.
  • Captivate Technology – advanced adsorbents for industrial carbon capture.
  • Flipped Energy – platforms helping retailers deliver demand response and dynamic pricing.
  • SunWiz – global market intelligence on solar, batteries, and heat pumps.

We are proud that Geoneon is part of this exceptional group, bringing a focus on climate risk intelligence—using AI and satellite data to map vegetation, wildfire severity, and community exposure.

Why It Matters

Participation in the Accelerator comes with investment, mentorship, and strategic partnerships. For us, it means:

  • Access to EnergyLab’s network of 400+ mentors, investors, and industry leaders.
  • Tailored support on scaling internationally, raising capital, and strengthening commercial partnerships.
  • An opportunity to showcase Tasmanian climate tech alongside national and global innovators.

Our CEO, Roxane Bandini-Maeder, noted:

“Geoneon was founded to bring cutting-edge satellite analytics to climate resilience. Joining EnergyLab’s Accelerator is a chance to sharpen our growth strategy, build new partnerships, and scale our wildfire and vegetation models to the global stage.”

Looking Ahead

From August to December, we will be working alongside our cohort peers and EnergyLab’s team to accelerate Geoneon’s impact. This opportunity will help us expand our wildfire hazard and exposure models beyond Australia, and continue building tools that governments, insurers, and infrastructure managers can trust in planning for a changing climate.

We are proud to represent Tasmania in this national program, and excited to contribute to a community of innovators working toward the same goal: a safer, more resilient, low-carbon future.
